Team Green Racing today completed its first test session for the year at the Archerville circuit.
It was a fine and hot day and the track was hot, clean and free of dirt. After a complete rebuild over the Christmas break, the initial systems checks found that the kart was running faultlessly, which it continued to do throughout the day. A successful first test for 2007 With its first complete rebuild since the kart arrived at our workshop last January we took the opportunity to apply some of the things we have learnt over the past six months to fine tune its setup. The test session saw driver Robert Green run three long stints of fifteen, sixteen and twenty six laps, the last one on near new tyres first used at the state titles. The kart had plenty of grip and was well balanced. This was shown in the resulting lap times, which were significantly faster than those achieved previously. Our goals for the day accomplished, we were able to pack up a clean and straight kart ready for the first race meeting at Highclere next weekend. |
